About Algorand

Algorand is a blockchain project led by Silvio Micali, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Gödel Prize winner, and Turing Award winner. The project successfully raised a $4 million seed round of financing, with investors including well-known venture capital Pillar and Union Square Ventures.

Algorand did not introduce incentive mechanisms or issue digital cryptocurrencies. The project itself has a broad market space.
