A recent study by NFT Evening highlights Bitcoin’s incredible wealth generation potential, revealing that its price surge past $100,000 has led to the creation of 14,211 new millionaires and four new billionaires. The report emphasizes that Bitcoin (BTC) investors have become millionaires 22 times faster than traditional stock investors, showcasing the cryptocurrency’s remarkable wealth-building power.
The study compares the performance of a $4,000 investment in Bitcoin and blue-chip stocks made in 2010. After 3,775 days, or 10.3 years, Bitcoin investors reached their first $1 million milestone. In contrast, those who invested in blue-chip stocks saw their portfolios grow to just $45,000, illustrating the vast difference in returns between the two investment types.
Further findings show that Bitcoin investors who put $30,500 into the cryptocurrency in early 2011 became billionaires within 4,645 days (approximately 12.7 years). This led to an astronomical return of 32,787 times their initial investment. Meanwhile, those who invested the same amount in blue-chip stocks saw their portfolio increase to just $950,000, meaning Bitcoin investors reached the billion-dollar milestone while stock investors were still working towards their first million.
Despite its ability to generate significant wealth, Bitcoin is often seen as a volatile asset. The study notes its fluctuating performance over the past three years, including a peak of nearly $69,000 in November 2021, followed by a sharp drop to under $17,000 a year later. However, since late 2022, Bitcoin has trended upward, reaching a new all-time high of $108,364 on December 17.
When compared to major U.S. stocks between 2010 and 2020, Bitcoin’s returns were significantly higher. The study found Bitcoin’s growth during this period was 76,378 times greater than Apple’s returns. Additionally, Bitcoin outperformed other tech giants, delivering 6,062 times the returns of Nvidia, 148,978 times those of Microsoft, 66,330 times those of Amazon, and 9,103 times those of Tesla, further solidifying its potential as a wealth-generating asset.
