Sandeep Nailwal, the co-founder of Polygon, and Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, are collaborating to transfer $100 million to India's COVID-19 research and medical infrastructure development. Crypto Relief is an Indian cryptocurrency fund.

As part of their collaboration, Crypto Relief will contribute $90 million in USD coins to support their charitable initiatives. Additionally, Buterin himself will personally contribute $10 million to the cause. Both Buterin and Nailwal will play a role in overseeing the allocation of these funds.

In India's COVID-19 epidemic, the first installment was used for emergency humanitarian relief. According to its website, Crypto Relief is a community-run charity that provided financial assistance to India during the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to Buterin's June 8 tweet, future pandemics and COVID-19 will continue to pose a large risk in the 21st century. Buterin contends that a global solution is required, one that combines frontier scientific innovation with on-the-ground implementation.

According to Buterin, a large portion of COVID-19 research will concentrate on COVID-19 airborne transmission through creating better medical apparatus. The $100 million will also be transferred to a Gnosis Safe wallet utilizing the following contract address, Buterin said. In late January 2022 or shortly afterward, Buterin made the first $100 million gift, which initially took the form of Shiba Inu (SHIB).

Furthermore, this is not Buterin's first charitable endeavor. In April 2022, Buterin donated $5 million worth of Ether (ETH) to Aid for Ukraine to support the country's defense against Russia's invasion in February 2022. According to the company's website, as of November 26, Crypto Relief has successfully raised $473 million.
